Hello!

I am Dr. Robert Urban. I am the founder of PaperBoat, a sole proprietorship based in Deland, Florida. Deland is a little slice of paradise tucked between Daytona Beach and Orlando. I serve all of Central Florida, although I have clients across the entire United States. Paperboat Media was named that because I wanted to express that I will get you wherever you want to go, in a creative, fun way. (My then 6 year old son named it.)

I ran a digital marketing agency for years and realized that people wanted a more personal touch. They wanted someone that they can call with questions, knowing they will have unbiased opinion and expert level advice.

Most of my professional relationships are with the president or senior leadership of a business. Due to my unique background and experience, I offer a perspective that is rare in my industry.

While I stay abreast of all of the digital tactical stuff, my real value is quickly being able to identify potential pitfalls and hurdles, while simultaneously coming up with creative ideas that are unique to a company’s goals.

What Makes Me Unique?​

One of the things that makes me unique is that I am not simply a good marketer; I am also a savvy business guy. I understand how marketing works holistically with the entire business.

I am also a Marine veteran, a best-selling author, a father of three and have a degree in Psychology and a PhD in Earth and Environmental Science so have various life experience that rounds me out.

Moreover, due to the nature of my job, I have worked in numerous verticals. I have worked with theme parks, travel destinations, lawyers, plastic surgeons, small businesses, SAAS companies, staffing, churches, hospitals, restaurants and more. I love this part of the job.

Other than meeting and building relationships with great people like yourself, this is the most fun part of why I do what I do. It keeps my job from ever becoming boring. One day, I might be crafting and executing a digital marketing strategy for a plastic surgeon and the next talking to a pool company about how to get more quality leads, a boat charter captain on how to market himself, a tractor supply store on how to sell more tractors, or a restaurant about how to brand themselves.

As an executive advisor, I provide consulting services to a management team, a company’s founder, or other leadership. I study  the organizational goals and strategies of a business and determine what changes can be made to better serve the company and its executive team. Many SMB owners are so busy running their business they don’t have the time, nor inclination to learn all the ins and outs of marketing. (And they shouldn’t have to. I am not going to learn how to do plumbing as an example- know what you are good at and what your time is best suited for)
